Russ' brief biography
Russ Dempsey is Vice President & Chief Legal Officer for United Retirement Plan Consultants. In addition to being a hands-on CLO, Russ drives value for his client by increasing efficiencies within the legal and compliance departments, and utilizing project management techniques and structuring value based relationships with outside counsel. Russ is a frequent speaker on legal project management and value-based billing practices. Russ has been recognized as a 2102 ACC Value Champion. He is the Immediate Past President of the Central Ohio Chapter of the Association of Corporate Counsel. Russ has been recognized by Columbus Business First in the 2012 class of Top Forty under 40 and in the Top Corporate Counsel awards as Rising Star in 2011.
Russ holds both a JD and an LL.M. in taxation from Capital University Law School. He received his BA degree in Philosophy from Marshall University.

Aileen's brief biography
Aileen Leventon, Founder and President of QLex Consulting Inc., works with law firms and general counsel to improve the management and economics of legal services. After practicing law for 15 years, she turned her attention to the financial and management aspects of legal service delivery. Integrating deep business and legal backgrounds, she advises on legal fee structures, pricing and budgeting, spending, process improvement, project management and data analytics. Her clients include top-tier international law firms, regional and boutique firms, and law departments -- Fortune 100 companies to closely- held businesses.
Aileen is working with firms to introduce project management practices to through customized group training and matter-specific coaching. This includes training programs for practice groups, associates, partners, entire firms and legal departments. She has been embedded in her clients’ matters to apply project management to complex litigation and sophisticated transactions and address budgeting, forecasting and case management matters.
A faculty member for the Association of Corporate Counsel’s master classes, Ms. Leventon has trained 200+ general counsels on project management, hundreds of lawyers in private practice, and in-house legal professionals. She is also NITA-trained and is part of NITA’s new initiative to offer training programs on business skills for lawyers.
Aileen is a key player in helping to bridge the chasm that often exists between clients and lawyers with regard to the management and value of legal services. Prior to QLex, Ms. Leventon was a partner in the legal management consulting practice at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP and in the U.S. office of Blaqwell Inc. At PwC, she led the surveys that were the industry standards for legal spending, staffing and law firm operations—the Law Department Spending Survey and the Law Firm Statistical Survey. She practiced law at Proskauer Rose LLP and Equitable Life/AXA. Ms. Leventon has an MBA from Columbia University and a law degree from Cornell Law School, where she was Managing Editor of the Cornell Law Review. She graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Stony Brook University.
